How we write our landlord guides
How Empire Turnover writes, sources, dates, and corrects its NYC landlord and property turnover guides.
What our guides are for
Empire Turnover is a New York City property turnover company that helps landlords and property managers prepare apartments and commercial spaces between tenants. Our landlord resources exist to give owners, property managers, and brokers practical information about the work between one tenant and the next: inspection, scope, cleaning, paint, repairs, access, and handoff.
The guides are based on how turnover work is actually planned and done in Manhattan and Brooklyn buildings, and, where a topic touches law or regulation, on reputable New York City and New York State sources.
How we handle legal and regulatory topics
- We only state a legal or regulatory requirement when we can point to an authoritative source, such as NYC HPD, the NYC Health Department, New York State law, or the U.S. EPA.
- Those sources are linked in the text and listed at the end of the guide.
- Guides that touch on legal topics carry a visible note that they are general information, not legal advice.
- Requirements change and depend on the building. We encourage readers to confirm obligations with the relevant agency, their attorney, or their managing agent.
What we do not publish
- Prices or price ranges. Turnover cost depends on the size, condition, and scope of each space, so we explain the cost factors instead and quote each job individually.
- Guaranteed timelines. Timing depends on availability, access, and project scope. Faster timelines may be possible for some jobs, subject to availability and project scope.
- Statistics we cannot back up. Any figures about turnovers will come from our own records with a stated method, or from a cited source.
- Testimonials, ratings, or project examples that are not real. Case studies will only be published with actual project details and photographs.
Dates, updates, and corrections
The updated date changes only when the content changes meaningfully, for example new guidance, a corrected fact, or a revised checklist. Small wording or design changes do not change the date.
If you see something inaccurate or out of date, email ops@empireturnover.com and we will review it.
